Job Summary : Join Geisinger as a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Specialist and take advantage of a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates! We offer a competitive minimum hiring rate of $15.75, with escalating rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differential for evening, night, and weekend shifts. We also provide up to $40,000 in financial support to pursue a nursing career!
Job Duties :
- Provide continuous monitoring of patient cardiac rhythms across various units, alerting nursing staff of any changes.
- Record and document cardiac rhythms on patient strips every four hours.
- Manage telemetry monitors during patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Perform clerical duties related to patient information in the Central Cardiac Monitoring Room.
- Clearly communicate with nursing staff regarding rhythm changes.
- Orient and mentor new team members.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment alongside nursing staff; liaise with Clinical Engineering as needed.
- Maintain and stock necessary monitoring equipment.
- Ensure confidentiality of all patient and staff information.
- Build a strong rapport with nursing and clinical teams, addressing questions and requests as needed.
Position Details :
Full time position - 36 hours / week
Hours : 7am-7 : 30pm (3-12 hour shifts / week)
Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
Preferred : Previous cardiac monitoring experience, but training is available
Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 1 year clinical experience preferred.
