Job Summary
Geisinger's Neuroscience Institute is inviting applications for a neurology nurse practitioner or physician assistant to enhance our dedicated team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and triage patients based on their presenting conditions.
- Monitor procedure and laboratory results, communicate findings with physicians, and provide updates to patients and their families.
- Facilitate appropriate follow-up care for patients.
- Respond to queries from established patients and their families to assess their needs.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss treatment plans and relay necessary information to patients and families.
- Assist in obtaining preauthorization for medications and diagnostic studies.
- Screen patients as required.
Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner: Certificate of completion from an accredited program and certified or eligible for certification by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Certification to work with all patient age groups is also required.
- Physician Assistant: Graduate of an ARC-approved physician assistant program, certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants, and certified or eligible for certification by the State Board of Medicine.
