Job Summary:
As a Neurology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner at Geisinger Neuroscience Institute, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and triage patients based on their presenting conditions.
- Monitor and communicate relevant procedure and laboratory results, collaborating with physicians and keeping families informed.
- Ensure continuity of care by facilitating appropriate follow-up for patients.
- Respond to and assess the needs of patients and their families through phone consultations.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss patient care plans and relay information effectively to families and patients.
- Assist with preauthorization processes for medications, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
- Perform patient screenings and evaluations.
Qualifications:
- For Physician Assistants: Must be a graduate of an ARC-approved physician assistant program, certified or eligible by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants, and licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine.
- For Nurse Practitioners: Must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program and be certified or eligible by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, with the ability to work with all age groups.
