Job Summary:
As a Nurse Practitioner in Behavioral Health, you will collaborate with physicians to provide exceptional care to both new and established patients.
You will demonstrate your autonomy in evaluating patients, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and following up on care.
This role involves working closely with nursing staff, physicians, and the department team, including responsibilities like triage, patient education, and telephone communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to establish diagnoses and implement effective treatment plans for your patient population.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the electronic medical record, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing evidence-based medical therapy.
- Manage medication therapy by prescribing, adjusting, or discontinuing medications as needed.
- Communicate significant findings and management plans to the collaborating physician regarding patient health risks.
- Perform clinical procedures within the authorized scope of practice.
- Engage with patients, primary care providers, and referring staff through effective communication channels.
- Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring they receive safe, ethical care, and health education in understandable language.
- Adhere to and interpret policies and guidelines to achieve established goals and deadlines.
- Share on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis among a diverse group of providers.
Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is required; experience is preferred.
Note: Additional opportunities may exist for providers with dual Family Practice/PMHNP qualifications.
This position is based in a clinical environment. You will be expected to fulfill job-specific responsibilities and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)
Certifications and Licenses:
- Basic Life Support Certification
