Job Summary : Geisinger is excited to invite applications for the position of Patient Care Technician. Join our Emergency Department team and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care. Enjoy a competitive minimum hiring rate of $18.94, with additional compensation for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. We are also proud to offer up to $40,000 in financial support for those aspiring to become nurses.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide advanced patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including advanced dressing care, suctioning, and assistance with medical procedures.
• Perform blood specimen collection per Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of breast milk and pediatric formulas for our youngest patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reporting any changes in patient conditions to licensed personnel promptly.
• Support patients with daily living activities, including hygiene and linen changes, ensuring a comfortable environment.
• Participate in one-on-one patient safety watches and assist in the transportation and maintenance of specimens to laboratories.
• Engage in clerical duties related to admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with established standards.
• Play an active role in quality assurance and regulatory readiness initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and guidance for new staff and students, fostering a collaborative work environment.
