Exemption Status : Job Summary :
Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general oversight of a Lead Polysomnographic Technologist and the clinical director or designee. A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, RPSGT can provide supervision of a Certified Polysomnographic Technologist, CPSGT.
Job Duties :
- Gathers and Analyzes Patient Information Testing Preparation Procedures : Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary.
- Polysomnographic Procedures : Follows procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data.
- Polysomnographic Record Scoring : Scores sleep and wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
- Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
- Performs routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation.
- Participates in all Joint Commission mandated educational programs including, but not limited to, Infection control, Fire, Electrical and Hazard Safety programs annually.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and program information.
- Responds to study participant's procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information.
