Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at Geisinger. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide anesthesia care in the operating room, supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the general supervision of an anesthesiologist.
Responsibilities:
- Anesthetize patients with precision and care
- Select appropriate medications for anesthesia and emergency treatment
- Induce and maintain anesthesia while monitoring patient status
- Treat variants of anesthesia as needed
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, and Charge CRNA
- Assess patient status and interpret hemodynamic waveforms and equipment status
- Take corrective measures to ensure patient stability in pre, peri, and post-anesthesia phases
- Conduct thorough preoperative evaluations, including chart reviews
- Provide emotional support and confidence to patients
- Organize the OR room with necessary equipment, monitors, and drugs
- Perform diagnostic equipment checks
- Coordinate with ancillary, nursing, and physician staff to create a safe environment for patients
- Respond to codes and maintain airway integrity
- Provide anesthesia support to assigned areas
- Accurately, efficiently, and thoroughly document patient information into EMRs
- Transport patients safely, continuing to monitor airway status and providing sign-out reports to receiving teams
- Serve as an anesthesia expert, mentor, and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, students, nurses, and ancillary staff
Requirements:
We require a Master's Degree in Nursing, a Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) certification, Basic Life Support Certification, and a Licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist certification.
