About the Role
Geisinger Life Flight is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airborne Patient Transport Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments related to the conveyance of patients in need of emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
- Process flight assignments received from the Life Flight Communications Center and determine whether to accept or decline based on weather conditions or other factors impacting safety.
- Conduct pre-flight briefings with medical, communications, and ground personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Ensure the aircraft is prepared for flight, including inspection, loading, equipping, fueling, and staffing.
- Supervise and assist with cargo and passenger loading, ensuring weight and balance limitations are met.
- File, activate, and close flight plans to maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Class II Flight Physical Required.
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience preferred.
- Certified Airline Transport Pilot license required.
- Valid Driver's License required.
