Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant CMA Regional Float
This role involves traveling within 2 counties, Wyoming and Luzerne counties. The successful candidate should live within a commutable distance to one of the clinic locations within these areas.
This position offers a $5,000 sign on bonus to eligible candidates, as well as a float premium compensation of additional $3/hour PLUS mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Obtains and documents patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases.
- Assists patients as needed to prepare for visits with providers, ensuring their safety and privacy.
- Provides direct patient care as directed by providers, including performing EKGs, wound dressings, and supporting minor surgical procedures.
- Prepares and administers medications according to policy and procedure.
- Completes patient tests and treatments per provider's order.
- Collections and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork.
- Performs phlebotomy and assists in laboratory functions relative to testing, reporting, and quality assurance of laboratory specimens.
- Supports patient scheduling, filing reports, and following up on documentation, phone calls, and billing inquiries.
- Documents in the electronic medical record and uses the electronic medical record and scheduling system as designated.
- Facilitates timely appointments for patients, completes referrals and pre-authorizations as needed.
- Collects co-payments and executes ongoing patient communication as directed by providers.
- Reinforces patient education to support patient understanding of instructions.
- May inventory medical/surgical supplies and pharmaceuticals, verify expiration dates, document utilization, and optimize organizational efficiency and space utilization.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, adhering to infection prevention protocols and hand hygiene guidelines.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Travel may be required. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assist (RMA) required. Certified by one of the listed governing associations required: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.
