What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Specialist - Graduate Medical Education Accreditation position at Geisinger?
- Partner with Clinical Education Institute leaders to advance Clinical Learning Environment initiatives in Professionalism, Well-Being & Quality & Safety
- Manage and track quality and safety efforts (root cause analysis, risk reduction education, quality improvement and structured team learning activities)
- Oversee tracking and implementation of Clinical Education Institute initiatives
- Tracks, facilitates, collaborates and/or coordinates learners in areas of education across the health system.
- Participates in the onboarding of learners into system as needed.
- Assists with the development of curriculum for both learners and faculty.
- Oversees the implementation of educational activities, including activity registration, program implementation, coordination of events, and overall program evaluation.
- Coordinates with Educational departments (UME, GME, HPE, CPD, GEMS) on educational activities, when needed.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of the faculty evaluation, learner evaluation, and program evaluation system.
- Serves as administrative liaison with educational leaders/faculty/staff to assure implementation and maintenance of learning activities and the learning environment.
- Interfaces with learners, teaching faculty, and administrators to assist with accreditation, documentation, and evaluation efforts for educational programs as needed.
- Participates in budget development and implementation as needed.
- Represents educational content area on assigned internal and external committees.
