What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interventional Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician - GMC, Danville position at Geisinger?
At a Glance:
- 1 week ICU 12-hour days (7 days…mostly days. Some swings/nights).
- 2 -3 days off
- 1 week inpatient consults, studies, etc 8-hour days (5 days…days only). Call from home
- 2 weeks clinic 8-hour days (volume: 12-14 patients/day) Read PFT’s (pulmonary function tests)
- Perform scheduled procedures such as navigational bronchoscopy at a minimum. Other procedures that one can do are endobronchial ultrasound, bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR), bronchial valves, robotic bronchoscopy, endobronchial biopsies, plus further Interventional Pulmonary program development
- Receive both clinical and academic titles upon start
- Teach residents, fellows, and medical students as well as participate in scholarly activities, interdisciplinary programs, committees and research

Qualifications:
GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER (GMC), located in Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region's only Level I Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women's health (in the Women's Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics. The Hospital for Advanced Medicine serves as an integrated center for the most critical patients. Outpatient services are available on and off campus.
