Medical Director, Inpatient Psychiatry
- Functions as the Medical Director of Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast.
- Provides leadership, planning, organization, staffing, coordination and evaluation for area of supervision.
- Work collaboratively with the clinical, administrative and finance leaders to establish appropriate budgets for staffing and delivering all components of the clinical, research and education programs within the division.
- Act as liaison with department administration and other hospital platforms to promote innovative care, teaching, and research in clinical departments.
- Supervise and evaluate all division physicians and advanced practice providers in clinical and assigned administrative duties.
- Responsible for all quality improvement efforts in the division.
- May oversee one or more residency or fellowship programs or rotations.
- Responsible for all relevant department and accrediting and regulatory agency standards, policies and procedures.
- Facility-related meetings (committees, advisory boards, governing board).
- Departmental meetings.
- Medical provider governance (Bylaws, Medical Executive Committee).
- Credentialing and privileging functions.
- Performance management (productivity, OPPE, etc.).
- Recruitment and retention and staff engagement process and flow (schedule, call, walk-ins, etc.).
- Collaboration with other divisions and units.
- Accountability to Chief, Inpatient Psychiatry.
- Contracts with providers and community relations.
- Attends facility related meetings pertaining to safety, quality, utilization management, and other departmental and committee meetings.
