Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA is seeking a board eligible or board certified Nocturnist Advanced practitioner.
In collaboration with the physician, we provide care to new or established patients. Demonstrating autonomy through patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. Ordering testing as deemed necessary and remaining proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication and therapeutic regimen within the scope of practice of the physician assistant.
We take a team-based approach to care, working closely with nursing, staff physicians, and other department staff to provide comprehensive care to our patients. This may include triage, telephone communication, and patient education.
Making accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record; ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and consulting as appropriate and prescribing appropriate medical therapy utilizing evidence-based practice.
Prescribing, adjusting or discontinuing medications or therapies as appropriate. Evaluating and reporting to collaborating physician any circumstances or approaches to medical management or test results that present a significant risk to patient's health or well-being.
Performing procedures within the scope of practice of the physician assistant license. Communicating with collaborative physician, patient, PCP and referring staff through telephone or other means of correspondence.
