About the Role:
We are seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Cardiology team at the Geisinger Pottsville clinic in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
- Manage and assist in the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs, and outreach cardiology clinics
- Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner
Requirements:
- Certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or eligibility to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position
- Eligibility for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA
