Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiology
Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to support our Cardiology departments at the Geisinger Pottsville clinic in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. This role offers a Monday - Friday day schedule with no holidays or call, with possible outreach to area clinics.
About the Team
This team provides care in 5 acute care tertiary/quaternary hospitals, 4 community hospitals, and numerous outreach locations, performing over 10,000 cardiac procedures annually.
Geisinger Heart Institute features multiple accredited chest pain centers, a nationally recognized regional STEMI PCI network, complex arrhythmia ablation, a full range of coronary, vascular, and structural heart interventions, and an advanced heart failure program.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service.
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner.
