Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons with procedures related to the care of patients of all ages during surgical intervention.
- Coordinate treatments with other disciplines and provide basic patient assistance.
- Maintain an accurate account of supplies including sponges, needles, and instruments.
- Verify count with the circulating nurse at end of procedure.
- Prepare, identify, and verify all specimens obtained during the surgical procedure.
- Dispose of linens, needles, and sharps in appropriate containers.
Requirements:
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required)
- Minimum of 1 year-related work experience (Preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
