**About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Geisinger. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
**Responsibilities
- Support patients and providers by performing basic direct patient care activities
- Provide basic patient care duties such as taking vital signs, weights, assisting patients with ambulation, dressing and undressing for examination
- Assist provider in setting up for minor procedures, gathering supplies and equipment, applying aseptic dressings, opening supplies etc.
- Obtain and accurately document patient information using the rooming tool within the electronic medical record
- Complete medication review
- Accompany providers and care team members during patient examinations and assist as directed
**Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 1 year-related work experience
- Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months
