This position requires a minimum of 1 year of related work experience, a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and a valid driver's license. A Certified Phlebotomy Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification is also required. In this role, you will perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines. You will also exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements, perform accessioning procedures, and recognize discrepancies as appropriate. Furthermore, you will troubleshoot physician orders, process specimens for testing, and aid patients in our inpatient setting.
