The Geisinger Orthopaedic Urgent Care team is seeking a per diem advanced practitioner to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Floating between Geisinger Steamtown and Geisinger Centerpoint Healthplex for approximately 10 hours per week.
- Providing care to patients of all ages.
- Assessing and establishing presumptive diagnoses, implementing treatment plans, and making accurate and complete entries into the electronic medical record.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, consulting as appropriate, and prescribing evidence-based medical therapy.
- Evaluating and reporting significant risks to patient health or well-being to collaborating physicians.
- Performing procedures within the scope of practice of the physician assistant license.
- Communicating with collaborative physicians, patients, primary care physicians, and referring staff through various means.
- Instilling confidence in patients by providing safe, ethical care and health education.
- Interpreting and following policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
