Job Title: Part Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner hospitalist
We are seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hospital Medicine team at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
This role will involve working collaboratively with physicians to provide care to new and established patients. You will be responsible for patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care, as well as making accurate entries into the electronic medical record.
You will order and interpret diagnostic testing, consult as appropriate, and prescribe medical therapy using evidence-based practice. Additionally, you will evaluate and report any circumstances or approaches to medical management or test results that present a significant risk to patient health or well-being.
You will communicate effectively with collaborative physicians, patients, primary care physicians, and referring staff through various means of correspondence.
Your responsibilities will also include instilling confidence in patients by providing safe, ethical care and health education in a language they can understand.
You will interpret and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and excellent communication abilities. They will be accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures.
