We are seeking a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing practice at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
- Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
The successful Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a ARC-approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants and eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine.
