We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Geisinger Medical Laboratories.
Our mission is to provide exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services.
The selected candidate will perform and report various analyses from multiple specimen sources.
They will also perform and record instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
The ideal candidate will have excellent navigation and computer skills, as they will navigate and access multiple computer applications for job functionality.
In addition, the successful candidate will assist in the training and orientation of new employees.
They will participate in educational activities to maintain current knowledge in the field.
The selected candidate must be accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
No travel is required for this position.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program OR;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification OR;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory
This is a union position. The selected candidate will have an Associate degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
Preferred Qualifications:
- US Army 68K Medical Laboratory Specialist, 71E Clinical Laboratory Scientist, US Navy Medical Laboratory Technician, US Air Force Medical Laboratory Technician 4T0X1 and Biomedical Laboratory Officer (43TX) and related medical specialties.
