What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Diagnostic Technician position at Geisinger?
As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Geisinger, you'll work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes.
About the Role:
- You will utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
- You will prepare and/or administer, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- You will collaborate with a licensed practitioner in the performance of sonographic interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
- Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
- Monitors students and other healthcare providers.
Education and Certification:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a sonographer or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification is required.
- Radiology: ARDMS (RVT) or RVS credential required upon hire.
