Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Natural Gas Market Analyst & Writer to contribute to our market intelligence content and commentary reports. Ideally, the candidate is an upcoming graduate or a senior wanting a summer internship with a commitment to join our team full-time after graduating. The role is positioned at the intersection of market analysis and risk management, ideal for candidates with a blend of writing prowess and analytical capability. This position involves significant writing contributions to our daily, monthly, and semi-annual market reports, forecasts, and risk management hedging commentaries. 

Responsibilities:

• Produce market commentary content for our short and longer-form deliverables.  
• Collaborate with other analysts to produce actionable market intelligence reports in a timely manner.
• Conduct market analysis including fundamental, technical, and quantitative assessments.
• Sift through the noise and identify most impactful information to current and future price in different US regions.
• Leverage, engage, develop, and refine forecasting models and tools.
• Eventually engage directly with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored commentary, analysis and advice.
• Contribute to the ongoing learning and development of new market intelligence, leveraging gained market knowledge and existing writing and technical skills.

Qualifications:

• Strong English writing skills and storytelling ability in a professional tone, without the use of LLM’s (AI use as a supplement is encouraged in the role, but a strong writing foundation is necessary)
• Proficiency in Excel is necessary to engage with, monitor, and update our analytics 
• Demonstrated ability to handle data and filter through market information to deliver clear, insightful market analysis.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Drive and a strong work ethic.
• Working towards or having acquired a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field that provides the skills necessary for this role.
• Experience in an internship position(s) or very relevant coursework related to market analysis, analytics, or risk management is a plus.

Location: Houston, Texas

Salary: Anticipated base salary range is $40,000 to $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications. 

Salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
