Compensation & Benefits
Salaried position, paid weekly, with annual discretionary bonus.
Two (2) weeks vacation annually, seven (7) personal days annually, employer contributions to health, dental, and vision insurance, and employer 401K match and profit sharing.
Job Description
Currently recruiting for an Accounting Director to oversee all aspects of the company"s accounting functions. The Accounting Director will manage the day-to-day bookkeeping of the company"s accounts, ensure compliance with financial regulations, optimize financial processes, and provide strategic financial guidance to support working capital management and growth. This role will lead and develop the accounting team, currently a staff of three, while being hands-on across the accounting functions to manage and support pay applications, standard billing, certified payroll, AR / AP, and purchasing functions, in addition to general bookkeeping and reporting requirements. The Accounting Director will work in coordination with Department Heads across Sales, Project Management, Production, and Installation to ensure reliable and efficient accounting functions to support project invoicing, materials purchasing, and overall accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will work closely with the President to produce high quality and reliable financial reporting, and explore ways to constantly enhance the company accounting practices and processes.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the accounting team, overseeing all related hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and all applicable tax regulations and financial compliance requirements.
- Maintain clean books and records, reconciling accounts monthly.
- Prepare financial statements, sales tax filings, and other mandatory reports.
- Lead the annual review process with external CPAs and oversee the timely preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Implement and enforce internal controls and best practices to safeguard against fraud.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning efforts in collaboration with leadership.
- Analyze financial performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Proactively identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business stability.
- Explore ways to further enhance and optimize invoicing, accounts payable / receivable, and reporting processes for improved accuracy and speed.
Qualifications
Bachelor"s Degree desired or a minimum of 8 years of work experience. CPA certification not necessary but a plus. Comfort with learning and navigating new technology systems required.
