GELITA USA, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Audit & Compliance Specialist. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards, conducting thorough audits, and managing quality documentation and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, auditing, and compliance, with a focus on internal and external standards. This position will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Auditing:
- Prepare internal audit agendas based on internal audit program.
- Conduct internal audits using a prepared audit agenda or checklist, write reports, and enter findings into CAR database.
- Coordinate planning and scheduling of supplier audits. Conduct supplier audits using a standard audit agenda. Prepare supplier audit reports and enter findings into CAR database.
- Coordinate planning and scheduling of certification and customer audits.
- Participate in certification, customer, and regulatory audits and inspections, explaining management system structure and function and presenting audit evidence. Coordinate and facilitate interactions among external personnel and GELITA team.
- Provide support to team members responsible for RCA development and CAPA development for internal audits.
- Assist with developing RCA and CAPA plans with cross-functional team to address findings from external audits and inspections.
2. Compliance:
- Assist with development and implementation of programs, procedures, and practices needed to meet QMS, FSMS, and EMS requirements.
- Coordinate planning and scheduling of food safety team meetings.
- Participate in the review of customer specifications with a cross-functional team to ensure alignment QMS, FSMS, and applicable quality and food safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct batch record review for finished and semi-finished products to ensure accuracy, completeness, and that food safety controls have met all criteria.
- Conduct inspections of returned materials to assess compliance and quality status.
- Coordinate planning and scheduling of HACCP plan review. Assist team in the review and updating of the HACCP plans.
- As needed, provide cross-functional support to other QA team members related to customer support, product release, pest control, document control and record retention.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, etc.) preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality, preferable quality assurance, auditing, or regulatory compliance.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Must have strong knowledge of root cause analysis and FSSC 22000 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with ability to relate to all levels within the organization.
- Must be thorough and detail orientated in approaching all duties relative to this position.
- Currently hold, or is able to obtain after hiring, certifications related to PCQI Human or Animal, Food Defense, and Internal Auditing.
