Responsibilities:

As a Liquor clerk at Gelson's, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our liquor department. You will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring our shelves are stocked, aisles are organized, and customers have a seamless shopping experience.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving any customer concerns.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of Liquor aisles, ensuring an inviting and organized shopping environment.
• Collaborate with your team on effective merchandising strategies, including product displays, promotions, and signage.
• Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise while complying with safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, stock the liquor cooler and liquor shelves and ensure accurate product pricing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Embrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed.
• Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions accurately.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a grocery retail setting
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of grocery products, merchandising techniques, and inventory management
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  
  

Physical requirements:

• Continuous hand manipulation including, grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
• Reaching above and at shoulder level
• Standing, walking, bending up to 8 hours per day
• Walking on uneven surfaces
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. (Rarely up to 75 lbs.)
• Driving moving equipment (Power jack/Hand truck)
• Working near hazardous equipment (Baler, trash compactor)
• Exposure to dust, gas, fumes (Receiving dock)
• Exposure to extremes in temperature (Coolers)
