As a Produce clerk at Gelson's, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of our produce department. You will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring our produce displays are stocked according to department standards, and the department is clean and presentable at all times to ensure customers have a seamless shopping experience.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving any customer concerns.Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of produce, ensuring an inviting and organized shopping environment.Collaborate with your team to ensure effective merchandising strategies, including product displays, promotions, and signage.Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and product pricing. Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness and reduce waste.Be familiar with produce products and provide information when necessary.Assist in receiving product orders, ensuring accuracy and proper storage of incoming merchandise.Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation on shelves, removing any damaged or spoiled products.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.Embrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed.Other duties and responsibilities as required.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in a grocery retail settingStrong organizational and multitasking skillsAbility to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periodsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesKnowledge of produce products and merchandising techniquesFlexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical requirements :
Continuous hand manipulation including, grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulationReaching above and at shoulder levelStanding, walking, bending up to 8 hours per dayWalking on uneven surfacesLifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.Driving moving equipment (Forklift / Power jack)Working near hazardous equipment (Baler, trash compactor, produce knives)Exposure to dust, gas, fumes (Receiving dock)Exposure to extremes in temperature (Coolers)How to Apply :
