What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Automation Engineer position at GEM Inc?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret and execute system layouts based on construction documents.
- Design temperature control systems for commercial HVAC applications.
- Conduct equipment take-offs to assist estimators in determining control equipment counts.
- Provide updates to control submittal drawings in collaboration with the Lead Building Automation System Specialist and Project Managers.
- Cross-check design details for electrical power, control panels, relay logic, wiring, and control devices associated with HVAC, access, lighting, and CCTV systems.
- Support software engineering and system networking, including programming and communication system integration.
- Generate design submittals, as-built drawings, and operations & maintenance (O&M) packages.
- Obtain and coordinate cut sheets, submittals, and O&M assembly processes.
- Ensure compliance with contract drawings and specifications, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Select appropriate devices for specified applications while adhering to customer requirements.
- Create custom graphic packages for integration into the building automation system.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Assist in project reviews and value engineering to optimize costs and efficiency.
