We are seeking a Proposal Writer (Technical) to join our corporate team supporting federal initiatives! The selected candidate will work closely with our proposal division, project teams, and industry partners to write technical, compelling, and compliant documents. In line with our corporate culture, this position requires a strong writing background with high integrity and commitment to quality at every stage. This position is full-time and will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Knoxville, TN.
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and revise technical content for proposals in response to federal solicitations that are compliant with RFP solicitation instructions.
- Develop and update proposal content to convert technical concepts to compelling, compliant, and easy-to-understand content while adhering to industry and proposal-writing standards.
- Convey technical information clearly, concisely, and with a flair for innovative concepts.
- Read and analyze solicitation, proposal documents, and writing output required.
- Work closely with the proposal team and technical lead to understand and adhere to the proposal planning.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, proposal meetings, and color team reviews.
- Independently develop technical, management, and / or past performance volumes in accordance with RFP requirements.
- Review, revise, and incorporate teammate and subcontractor written contributions to the final draft.
- Complete writing assignments, determine page allowances to meet page limitations (as applicable), and implement proposal publication requirements.
- Research and write compelling sections with no available author.
- Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical project managers to co-write sections.
- Review written materials and graphics submitted by the technical and proposal team and offer constructive feedback including specific ideas and strategies to enhance written sections.
- Attend meetings, observe work, and conduct interviews to capture and document process details.
- May contribute to and review procedures, proposals, marketing material, research deliverables, and any other type of documents.
