Apprentice HVAC Mechanical

GEMCO Constructors, LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems and service contractor providing comprehensive design and build solutions for its customers throughout the United States.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Apprentice is responsible for the assembling and installing of HVAC units to new and existing construction projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

·         Installing duct work, equipment and curbs

·         Cutting and threading pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine

·         Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

·         High school graduation or equivalent.

·         Utilize a variety of tools, power tools, measurement

·         Pass a background check and drug test

·         Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.

Physical Demands

·         The position requires standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the workday.

·         Lift repetitively 50 pounds.

·         Must be able to work at heights of up to 100 feet or more.

·         Climb ladders.

·         Work from scaffolding and lifts.

·         Capable of driving long distances (up to 14 hours per day) between job sites.

·         Other manual labor as required.
