Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Full-Time; Day Shift
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team in Muscle Shoals, AL. The ideal candidate will verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments of products, including parts going to outside service suppliers. They will prepare items for shipment by performing the essential job functions.
Responsibilities:
- Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against shippers, packing slips, invoices, orders or any other pertinent information record.
- Assemble cardboard containers or select the appropriate container for shipments.
- Insert and package items securely into containers.
- Binds containers and stacks onto wooden pallets.
- Affix labels, stamps, identifying information and or shipping instructions to containers (including customer required documents).
- Post weights and shipping charges, affix labels
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with purchasing to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to the appropriate department.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and adequate packaging has been used.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operate hilo, crane, hand or electronic lifts to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving to storage, truck, or work area.
Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to read and follow shop work instructions
- Able to lift 50lbs and use a crane as necessary
- Clearly fill out shop documentation
- Computer literate
