Maintenance Mechanic
***THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION***
Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery to ensure efficient and continuous operation. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs as well as routine and preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment, including mixers, conveyors, pumps, motors, valves, packaging lines and facility infrastructure as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- The ability to troubleshoot and test equipment as necessary to solve problems and pro-actively prevent them.
- Ability to cut, thread, bend, and strap electrical conduit as needed.
- Ability to cut, thread, and install black pipe as needed.
- Install and commission new equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma minimum.
- 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial setting or equivalent experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read schematics and equipment manuals to repair equipment and order parts from approved vendors as necessary.
- Experience with fabrication, electrical, hydraulic, fluid transfer.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to work overtime and call-outs as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all level of the organization.
- Electrical licensure a plus.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for work order management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
