SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all raw materials and finished goods within our paint manufacturing plant ERP / WMS system. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient production, timely order fulfillment, and minimizing waste. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to safely and effectively drive a forklift to load, unload, and transport products.
- Periodically audit inbound shipments to verify accuracy versus purchase order and/or BOL and properly labeled for put away.
- Report to plant management on inventory-related issues and non-moving materials.
- Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve inventory discrepancy issues.
- Ensure inventory is being properly rotated (FIFO).
- Identify monthly slow-moving/obsolete inventory and recommend disposition.
- Strives to maximize inventory turns and optimize service to the customers.
- Follow all safety rules and assure work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse, optimizing storage space and ensuring proper handling, storage, and rotation of stock to minimize waste and obsolescence.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to validate system accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
- Ensure data integrity within the inventory system through regular audits, data cleansing, and system updates.
- Identify areas for improvement in inventory control processes and procedures and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
- Assist plant manager with the annual physical inventory process.

- Basic computer skills with ability to learn MS office proficiently; Experience in MS Office, Excel Preferred.

- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner, and dress according to acceptable standards set by the company.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in an non-climate controlled warehouse.
