Job Overview
Gemini Restoration is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. As a key accounting role supporting the business, this candidate will provide financial leadership to support the accounting needs. This person should have an extensive background working with multiple business units and functions including sales, operations, marketing, and accounting. The Accountant should have the ability to understand the business unit operations and effectively be able to communicate financial insights as it relates to operations back to senior leadership.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a Work in Process (WIP) operation and report for business units in conjunction with the business unit management and project team.
- Ensure the timely completion of accurate GAAP financial reports to support the month-end and fiscal year-end close procedures for business units.
- Coordinate with local business unit management to implement general corporate accounting policies and efficient financial operations for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Monitor and expand internal metrics such as sales, revenue, job costing, and cash forecasts to support management decisions.
- Create an annual budget in conjunction with the Regional Controller, monitor monthly performance against the budget, and communicate budget performance with local business unit management teams regularly.
- Manage all local and state tax reporting functions for the business units.
- Provide payroll oversight to local business unit personnel to ensure timely and accurate payroll accounting.
- Act as a general resource for the business units by answering analytical questions.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
Experience
- 3 years of relevant experience in construction finance and accounting with continued professional development required.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Working knowledge of disparate accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage Intacct
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong accounting knowledge required. Experience with percentage of completion (POC) accounting and the construction industry preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and techniques.

- Keen ability and affinity for influencing, building credibility, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and leaders.
- Strong ability to demonstrate business acumen and an understanding of "value" to assist in analyzing business information.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to document and describe financial information, operations, and commercial understanding directly to operational managers as it relates to their business functions and needs.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $75,000-85,000
