We are seeking a highly skilled Bench Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical tests on electronic systems, sub-assemblies and computers to ensure the unit functions according to specification or to determine the cause of failure by performing the following procedures:

*Read test schedules, work orders, test manuals, etc. to build specifications to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.

*Test functional performance of systems, sub-assemblies and parts under specific environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure and humidity.

*Connect unit to be tested to test equipment such as a signal generator, frequency meter or spectrum analyzer.

*Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance and capacitance.

*Compare results with specifications and record the test data or plot test results on a graph.

*Analyze test results on defective units to determine the cause of failure.

*Replace defective wiring and components and record defects on a tag attached to the unit.

*Collaborates with engineers, technicians, production personnel and others regarding testing procedures, results to resolve problems.

*Verifies dimensions of pins, shafts and other mechanical parts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is characteristic of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

An employee may be exposed to the risk of electric shock, radiation, moving mechanical parts, and, occasionally, exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level is usually quite moderate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, sit, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 10 – 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities are required for the job including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
