Position: Staff Nurse –LPN or RN Inpatient
This Regional Health Systems funded position is classified as supporting a department for the Regional Care Group network. The incumbent hired will represent Regional Care Group network on official communications. Regional Health Systems is Northwest Indiana’s largest provider of community-based mental health care, primary health care and addiction treatment services. We offer adults and children—both uninsured and insured—integrated care through our community mental health center and federally qualified health center. Regional Health Systems is a member of the Regional Care Group.
Position Purpose:
Medication coordination with pharmacy and doctors (medical and psychiatric), interact and educate both staff and clients about psychotropic medications, work closely with Psychiatrist regarding medication training/administration to clients, some skills training services and case management services. Majority of services completed in the community. A well as to provide Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice by interventions which are directed toward: Health Promotion and Health Maintenance, Assessment and evaluation of dysfunction in order to provide assistance in regaining coping abilities and prevent further disability, provide a therapeutic milieu, Administer and monitoring pharmacologic treatment, Health teaching, crisis intervention, counseling and discharge planning.
Essential Function:
- Admission assessment of clients based on psychiatric and addiction needs
- Nursing Care
- Glucose Monitoring
- Establish waived testing competency for urine drug screens, if applicable
- Mantoux Testing
- Emergency Intervention care of clients in crisis
- Emergency Intervention care of clients in crisis (seclusion and restraints) if applicable
- Medication Administration
- Clinical Documentation
- Trainer/lead responsibilities, if applicable
- Provide backup as needed in Supervisor’s absence, if applicable
- Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Resource Documents

Looking for the following shifts:
· Full-time position - Overnight shift - 12pm-8am
Requirements:
- Minimum of Associates Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse or License Practical Nurse in Indiana, no experience required – one year of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.

- Inpatient Unit only (Shift Differential of additional $4.00) for RN only.
