What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Manager position at Gen II?
Gen II Fund Services is looking for a Product Manager with a background working on Salesforce or integral knowledge of Gen II operations. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Product Owner vision, while working with the team to drive forward relevant Salesforce initiatives. The role will be focused on two areas:
1. maximizing system capabilities to achieve business objectives. This includes managing enhancements that are both complex and highly visible, to provide value and improve the user experience.
2. collaborate across teams to foster adoption of the platform and prioritization of the backlog.
The Product Manager works alongside the Salesforce Architect and Administrator to establish greater controls around process and procedures, and reports to the Salesforce Product Owner.
Year one objectives
- Build relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Work with the Product Owner on executing items in the Salesforce backlog to meet Gen II goals
- Execute and refine the roadmap of enhancements for Salesforce during 2025.
- Develop communication plan and timeline to drive adoption of Salesforce during 2025.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage & prioritise product requirements, working closely with App & Architecture function.
- Collaborate with worldwide cross-functional teams and clients to ensure Salesforce aligns to key Client & business requirements.
- Partner with users to understand pain points and areas to benefit the business.
- Capture and document user stories and requirements that the technical teams can build; Provide subject matter expertise, governance, data analysis and risk assessments to define how solutions will address business goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
- Manage product releases, ensuring product information is current and maintained.
- Drive adoption, educating users on best practices & enhancements.
- With the Product Owner identify improvements (to be added to roadmap).
- Become a product expert, acting as a product evangelist and ensuring users and teams derive value from Salesforce.
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs to drive successful outcomes.
- Proactively address issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables, driving projects to successful completion with minimal oversight.
- Manage and utilize internal and external resources. Provide vendor/3rd party management and oversight.
- Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these product management & customer success capabilities for the organization.
The ideal background for this role:
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field or “equivalent experience”.
- Worked in a Salesforce, Client Success or Product Management capacity or equivalent role.
- Technical background or experience in working on Technology projects is preferred.
- Gen II specific client service operations experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience with people management, strategic planning, and change management.

Unique role requirements
As global product manager, you will be liaising with internal teams and our Clients across all of Gen II’s offices, requiring a level of flexibility to accommodate our US West Coast, UK and EU time zones. Travel, up to once a quarter, could be required to facilitate face-to-face meetings with stakeholders.
The salary range for this position is $200,000-$220,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule
This role can be based in our Boston, Dallas, Denver or New York offices. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.
