This is a hybrid role.
Role Description
The Regulatory & Compliance Unit Manager is responsible for the compliance functions of GenStar and Genesis and is the unit manager of the Regulatory Unit. Supports the legal entities, which are P&C insurance companies offering coverage on an admitted and surplus lines basis through their in-house service companies. Requires knowledge of a broad range of compliance matters. This is a hands-on role with a workload of compliance tasks in addition to management responsibilities – a player manager. The person will manage a small team of compliance specialists with a proven record of multitasking, meeting deadlines, collaborating with various business units, and promoting a proactive compliance culture of fine-free success. This person will report to the Chief Underwriter of GenStar and Genesis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manager and Mentor Effectiveness: Develop and mentor associates to become effective compliance mentors throughout the organization. Build a network of compliance and insurance experts to enhance outcomes.
- Deadline Management: Maintain control of compliance deadlines for various requirements, including state filings, data calls, and licensing.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal clients to promote a compliant culture that supports growth.
- Admitted Requirements: Guide associates on best practices for handling admitted insurance and optimize exemptions to filing requirements.
- Reporting, Data Calls & Survey Submittals: Maintain a database of deadlines and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Consumer Complaint Resolution: Implement an effective system to address consumer complaints and inquiries promptly.
- Licensing Oversight: Ensure adherence to licensing requirements for brokers, claims adjusters and authorized lines of insurance.
- Law Change Advisory: Track and report on legislative and regulatory developments to key stakeholders.
- Product Research: Conduct competitive analysis and assist in product development.
- Compliance Research: Contribute to research on legal and regulatory matters.
- Internal Quality Reviews: Conduct audits to test compliance with insurance statutes and regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various divisions to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for compliance improvement and recommend plans for enhancement.
- Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate resources to meet project milestones.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify process improvements to enhance compliance tasks.
Role Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years as a regulatory compliance manager in the P&C insurance industry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Strong business acumen, management skills, and communication abilities.
Salary Range
155,000.00 - 260,000.00 USDThe annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
