GenStar Insurance Services, LLC is a premier provider of excess, surplus, and specialty property and casualty insurance written on General Star Indemnity Company (non-admitted) and General Star National Insurance Company (admitted) paper (collectively, the GenStar companies). The GenStar companies conduct business through a select group of wholesale brokers, managing general underwriters (MGUs), and program administrators in the United States. The GenStar companies are members of the Berkshire Hathaway Family of Companies .GenStar currently offers an excellent opportunity for Claims Assistant based in our Stamford, CT, Chicago, IL or Atlanta office. This is a hybrid role with 2 days required in the office each week.
Role Description
Core Responsibilities:
- The Claim Assistant core responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- New loss set up including FAL or similar claim system creation
- Locate and gather insurance/reinsurance policies and other underwriting documents
- Transmit documents and files to counsel
- Finalize and send correspondence
- Handle customer service calls
- Respond to Broker/Agent/MGA inquires
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets
- Identify and distribute unmatched mail
- Case Entry/ Rate Verification – BottomLine / Legal X
- Respond to coverage verification requests
- Establish and terminate legal hold requests
Role Qualifications and Experience
- 1 – 3 years in an equivalent position.
- Demonstrates excellence in:
o Time management;
o Multi-tasking;
o Business acumen;
o Organizational skills;
o Interpersonal skills;
o Microsoft word, Power Point, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Access
- Industry designations/course work a plus
Salary Range
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
