Gen Re is currently offers an excellent opportunity an Underwriting Solutions Analyst within our Life/Health North America unit. Our Stamford, CT office is the assigned work location however candidates are welcomed to work remotely.
Role Description
The Underwriting Solutions team is searching for a talented Underwriting Solutions analyst to help guide our organization into the future. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor on this growing team, supporting key strategic underwriting initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Explore and evaluate new technologies and tools for their worthiness and application to a life insurance underwriting workflow.

Support business case development, project planning and implementation of new underwriting solutions.

Examine business processes to understand pain points, identify enhancement opportunities and define requirements.

Develop and document functional specifications, user stories, and test plans.

Provide training and support to end-users and assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Support UW reporting and data analysis to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement.
- Balance and prioritize multiple projects and tasks and communicate progress and findings to stakeholders and management.
- Continually monitor and keep organization updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Role Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years of business support for a workflow process system

Demonstrated history of being the lead resource on a project that led to a successful implementation

Expertise in leading process improvement and process documentation initiatives
- Experience with project management, agile and waterfall development processes
- Life Insurance, Reinsurance and/or Underwriting experience is a plus
- Well-honed critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, fully remote environment
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Tableau, Excel, or Power BI, is preferred
- College degree strongly preferred
Salary Range
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
