We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Elgin, IL. This role involves hands-on technical support, equipment maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting for our packaging solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical consultation, installation assistance, and startup support for packaging equipment
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and system troubleshooting
- Conduct on-site training for customer personnel on proper equipment operation
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure successful installations
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, providing both on-site and remote support
- Document service reports, warranty information, and maintenance records in a timely manner
- Work closely with the Manager of Field Service and service coordinator to ensure efficient scheduling and completion of assignments
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment at all times
Requirements:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience in a related field
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, pneumatics, AC/DC motor control, PLCs, and VFDs preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and passport for travel and training opportunities
- Ability to use a computer for reporting and data entry, as well as a smartphone for job-related applications
- Availability to work overtime, including occasional weekends, as needed
