About the Role:
This is a summer internship opportunity for a social media and content guru who’s passionate about storytelling. You will have the opportunity to tackle content strategy and asset creation with support of a creative agency to story tell across marketing channels and touchpoints gaining experience to a wide range of multi-media creative formats.
In this role you will learn how to craft a content strategy for key messages within the cybersecurity category and how to bring that strategy to life, surrounding the story with creative assets for all consumer touchpoints. This role is a combination of strategy development, blog writing, and managing the creative development process to turn the blog content into video, display, social and other digitally native assets to surround each story across the entire consumer journey – and you’ll learn how to do this with a global POV executing within key markets and languages.
The Content Intern role sits within the Social Media and Content team within the larger Marketing organization at Gen. This person will be expected to work independently with guidance from your manager as part of a highly cross-functional team. On top of that, you’ll gain exposure and insight from our core internship program connecting with students, professionals and leaders across a range of topics during your internship.
You must have a proactive mindset, be detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. A creative eye for engaging content and an ability to write and story tell will be critical in this role.

You will be responsible for supporting the content and social media teams within Gen, bringing ideas to the team that support our strategy of driving engagement across platforms. You will also work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external agencies to create compelling content that resonates with our audience and aligns with broader marketing goals.

Specific job duties include:
- Assist with end-to-end production of content, from ideation to execution, for social platforms, digital marketing activities, and other relevant consumer touchpoints.
- Responsible for drafting long format blog articles on key topics with the help of brand and ai tools.
- Manage the of content production process, beyond written blogs which includes writing and delivering briefs to creatives, managing the creative review process with stakeholders, handing adjustments needed based on regional and cultural nuances and finally partnering with localization for translation needs.
- Monitor and report on performance, using analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of the content and make data-driven recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media and content advertising, especially within the tech and cybersecurity industry, and recommend opportunities to improve our marketing presence.
- Contribute to other marketing initiatives and projects within the greater Gen marketing team
- Support social media & content managers with content ideation and development as needed
- Other activities as needed
- Full time college student – grad student preferred.
- 1 years of experience in social media or content role preferred.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with various teams.
- Creative eye with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
- Process and timeline driven, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
