What are the responsibilities and job description for the Government Funding and Grant Manager position at Genabio Diagnostics?
Job Responsibilities:
1. Research and identify suitable federal, state, and local government grant opportunities (e.g., NIH, BARDA, CDC, NSF, DoD, SBIR/STTR,WHO) for Genabio.
2. Lead the preparation and submission of grant applications, including technical proposals, budgets, timelines, and compliance documents.
3. Build and maintain relationships with program officers from funding agencies to stay updated on priorities and application guidance.
4. Coordinate internal teams (R&D, clinical, regulatory, finance) to collect required application documents.
5. Manage post-award activities, including tracking milestones, budget compliance, and progress reporting.
6. Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, and tracking tools for grant submissions.
7. Support the development of Genabio’s annual grant strategy and prioritize project submissions.
8. Represent the company at relevant grant conferences and webinars to gather industry intelligence.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Life Sciences, Health Policy, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience applying for government funding in diagnostics, biotech, or medical device industries.
3. Proven success in applying for NIH, CDC, or SBIR/STTR grants.
4. Excellent English writing and communication skills; strong grant proposal writing background required.
5. Strong knowledge of budgeting, regulatory compliance, and funding process management.
6. Project management skills and ability to work across functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
7. Grant project management certification (e.g., PMP, CRA) preferred.
8. Familiarity with FDA regulatory strategies and 510(k)/EUA products.
9. Experience collaborating with finance, legal, and regulatory teams on public funding projects.
