The Lead PPEC CNA plays a crucial role in providing direct care to pediatric patients within our PPEC facility. This position requires a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of children under our care. In addition to CNA duties, the Lead PPEC CNA will oversee transportation services, ensuring that children are safely transported to and from the facility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Patient Care:**
- Provide direct care to pediatric patients, including assistance with daily activities such as feeding, bathing, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist in implementing care plans as directed by the nursing and clinical team.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all patients.
2. **Leadership and Supervision:**
- Lead and supervise a team of CNAs, ensuring compliance with care standards and protocols.
- Mentor and train new CNAs, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Coordinate with the Director of Nursing to address staffing needs and any operational challenges.
3. **Transportation Services:**
- Oversee and coordinate the safe transport of pediatric patients to and from the facility.
- Ensure that all transportation vehicles are well-maintained and comply with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, routes, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding transportation arrangements and any changes.
4. **Communication and Collaboration:**
- Maintain open lines of communication with the nursing staff, healthcare providers, and families.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on patient care and operational improvements.
- Report any concerns or issues promptly to the Director of Nursing.
5. **Compliance and Safety:**
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Participate in safety drills and ensure that all CNAs are trained in emergency procedures.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards within the facility and during transport.
**Qualifications:**
- **Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent; CNA certification is required.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNA, preferably in a pediatric or PPEC setting. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- **Skills:** Strong leadership and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- **Licensure:** Valid CNA certification; a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for transportation duties.
- **Physical Requirements:** Ability to lift and move patients as needed; ability to work on your feet for extended periods; must pass a background check and drug screening.
