This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer who leads a cross functional team working in an Agile Development environment in order to develop next generation Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Ground Control Stations (GCS). This includes integrating new software and payloads into existing the DoD UAS fleet.
Duties and Responsibilities
While leading a cross functional team in an Agile Development environment, will perform engineering tasks including but not limited to:
- Regularly meet with customer in support of project goals
- Derivation and allocation of system requirements
- Develop common standards and best practices for creating SysML artifacts including Use Cases, Activity Diagrams and Component Diagrams
- Manage requirements and ensure traceability to test cases
- Integrate new hardware and software in a Linux development environment
- Approve deliverable design artifacts
- Participate in design reviews with customers including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
- Articulate product acceptance standards and streamline integration in support of the overall enterprise vision
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or another related STEM field. Will consider years of related experience in lieu of degree.
- 7 to 9 years of related experience
- Multi-tasking aptitude
- Proactive problem solver
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- US Citizen
- Up to 25% travel
- Proficient in using UML modeling tools
- Experience with requirements management
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies
- Familiar with virtualization, messaging techniques and associated software
- Experience in testing networked systems
- Capable of troubleshooting multi-platform systems
- Understand test automation and implementation
- Experience in Linux environments
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MagicDraw, IBM Rational Rhapsody
- Experience with DOORs, Polarion or a similar tool
- JIRA or similar Agile development tool
- Ability to use and diagnosis interpret log files, Wireshark, and network connectivity issues
- Knowledge of UAS systems and ground control station architecture
