Position Summary:

The Director of a fast paced, entrepreneurial Healthcare Business Operations oversees all aspects of business operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, quality patient care, and financial sustainability. This role involves managing various administrative and operational functions, leading cross-functional teams, and aligning operational goals with the strategic vision of the healthcare organization. The director will have a proven ability to lead and coalesce teams, drive initiatives to improve operational performance, enhance patient satisfaction, and meet regulatory compliance requirements. Experience with acquisitions and integration is a bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define objectives, set performance metrics, and prioritize resources.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize patient flow, reduce waste, and enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and prepare operational reports for executive management.
  • Financial Management
  • Oversee budget planning, financial forecasting, and cost-management activities within the business operations department.
  • Develop strategies to improve profitability, optimize resource allocation, and enhance revenue cycle management.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for savings, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to review contracts, negotiate vendor agreements, and manage capital expenditures.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure that all operational activities adhere to healthcare industry regulations, quality standards, and patient safety requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies and accreditation organizations to facilitate audits and inspections.
  • Implement data-driven approaches to track and improve performance on key quality indicators.
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage and mentor a team of managers, coordinators, and administrative staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate training programs and professional development opportunities to build team capacity and skills.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and develop succession plans for key roles.
  • Promote a collaborative work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Patient Experience Enhancement
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving the patient experience, focusing on customer service, accessibility, and patient communication.
  • Oversee patient satisfaction surveys, gather feedback, and implement changes based on data to improve care quality.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to streamline patient services, reduce wait times, and enhance overall patient engagement.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor operational efficiency, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and track progress.
  • Prepare regular reports on performance, resource utilization, and patient outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive digital transformation by integrating new technologies that enhance data management and reporting capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
  • Serve as a liaison between operations, clinical staff, finance, and IT to facilitate smooth communication and coordination.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including vendors, regulatory bodies, and community organizations.
  • Communicate business goals, strategies, and outcomes effectively across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree (Preferred) in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 8–10 years of experience in healthcare operations or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and patient safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Proven experience with data analytics, performance metrics, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare IT systems.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Experience with digital transformation and healthcare technologies.
