Volunteer: DISCORD MANAGER

Gender Freedom Society is a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit based virtually in the United States. We are dedicated to educating and supporting the transgender community while striving to normalize transgender existence within broader society. Through educational platforms, outreach efforts, and moderated social media, we cultivate a culture where transgender rights are respected, and gender diversity is celebrated as vital to human identity. Everyday our team of global volunteers comes together in an effort to make this world a better place for the Trans/GNC community.

The Discord Manager is responsible for managing the organization's Discord community, with a focus on creating an engaging and welcoming environment for members. The Discord Manager will work closely with the organization's leadership and community teams to develop and implement strategies for moderating the community, creating and managing channels, and fostering interaction and engagement among members. The successful candidate will have experience managing online communities and a passion for fostering community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for moderating the organization's Discord community, including setting guidelines and enforcing rules
• Create and manage channels, including organizing and categorizing content
• Foster interaction and engagement among members, including through the organization of events and activities
• Collaborate with the organization's leadership and community teams to ensure that the Discord community aligns with the organization's mission and goals
• Monitor community activity and provide feedback and suggestions for improvements
• Attend meetings, events, and other functions as needed to represent the organization and advance community goals
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• 2 years of experience managing online communities
• Strong understanding of community management best practices
• Experience with Discord, including moderation tools and features
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
