Gene Cook Supports, LLC. is a locally owned and operated provider of home and community-based services in Western Pennsylvania. Sharing in the vision of Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs, our support systems assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families. We provide services and support individuals with making real life choices regarding working, choosing social activities, and living a quality life at home and in the community. Our skilled staff apply creative thinking and offer community resources to help individuals learn the skills necessary to live in the community in an independent, productive, and participatory manner.
Gene Cook Supports, LLC. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work with our clients in Allegheny, Westmoreland, and Fayette Counties.
The primary functions of the Direct Support Professional are:
- To teach, support and maintain skills, behavior, social and recreational, and incidental programs.
- To provide direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities in private individual/family homes, and community settings.
- To provide individual care and ensure safety in the home and community.
- Provide transportation when applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding progress notes, timesheets, and other required documentation.
- Communicate with other staff and management in a professional manner.
- Provide updated information in a timely manner to meet state and federal guidelines.
- Complete all required and ongoing training as needed.

**Required Skills and Qualifications: **
· - Must be 18 years of age or older.
· - Valid Driver’s License, with valid vehicle registration and insurance.
· - Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse populations.
· - Successfully pass background checks (criminal history, child abuse, FBI) within required timeframes.
