Summary
As a Grade Checker at Gene S. McMurrin, Inc., you will play an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our excavation projects. This position is vital to maintaining our commitment to quality service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Verify horizontal and vertical specified ratios for excavation using levels and lasers to set grade stakes.
- Assist in the inspections of heavy equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for material delivery and site preparation.
- Monitor excavation activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
- Mark and read survey stakes to determine grade specifications
- Report any discrepancies or issues to management promptly.
- Support the crew in various tasks as needed to facilitate project completion.
Qualifications
- 2 years experience performing Grade Checking.
- Experience in setting grade stakes to guide earth moving equipment operators in cut & fill, sloping, excavation and backfilling work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail for verifying levels.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to excavation work is essential.
- Experience with Top Con GPS system is a plus.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management.
